Exploring data through the portal

To be able to see the locations at which rainfall data have been collected by fellow weather-watchers, click on the map icon at the top of every web page. This will take you to a clickable map of the country. Clicking on a red dot locating a raingauge site will take you to a page with information about that site, complete with a graph of rainfall observed there over the last fourteen days, and some summary statistics.

Note that some of the locations (e.g. HYREX) are not monitored by a single raingauge or weather station, but by a collection run by special scientific projects. These sources are not designed for the hobbyist, and will not provide the simple summary statistics described above. To get full information about them, you need to read this manual under the `scientist' personality.
